NYC Parades August & September Labor Day NYC Parade and West Indian Parade The National Puerto Rican Day Parade, held annually on the second Sunday in June enhances the pride of the Puerto Rican people and promotes their contributions to the United States. The Mermaid parade is always a summer highlight in NYC and one of our favorite annual local things to do! The 3,000+ participants dress in hand-made costumes, while celebrating ancient mythology and honky-tonk rituals of the seaside. The Coney Island Mermaid Parade is one of New York City’s greatest summer events. Also held on the last day are the Pride Festival, along with the annual Dance on the Pier, following the parade wrapping up Pride Week in a grand fireworks display. Filled with a series of fabulous and fun events, the festivities begin with Family Night and the Rally and culminate with the Pride Parade, typically held on the last Sundday of June. Pride is the city’s premiere "LGBTQIA+" celebration. NYC Parades June NYC Pride Week, Parade and Festival More Info and Parade Details: Memorial Day NYC Dance Parade and Festival NYC Parades May Brooklyn Memorial Day Paradeīrooklyn’s Memorial Day Parade steps off 3rd Ave & 78th St, proceeds down 3rd Ave to Marine Ave, up to 4th Ave and over to John Paul Jones Park for their memorial service that includes Bag Pipes, Flag Raising, Wreath Laying by Veteran Service Organizations, a 21-gun Salute by the Veteran Corps of Artillery and the playing of Taps. The Parade is reviewed from the steps of Saint Patrick’s Cathedral by His Eminence Cardinal Edward Eagan, Archbishop of New York. This parade has been held for the past 250+ years in honor of the Patron Saint of Ireland and the Archdiocese of New York. The Parade is held every March 17th, except when March 17th falls on a Sunday, it is celebrated the day before, Saturday the 16th because of religious observances.
